MARE NOSTRUM, located in the town of Venaco, in the heart of Corsica, was founded in 2004 by Charlie and Stéphane Sansonetti to develop, produce and promote films for the cinema and television programs.
This new regional creative resource reflects a clear editorial objective to assist Corsican authors, Corsican-related projects, and on a broader level, productions and co-productions with Mediterranean themes and synergies.
MARE NOSTRUM’s ambition is to radiate beyond the Mediterranean area with highly original images, ideas, and content along universal themes.

Charlie, a director, and Stéphane, a producer, have the combined professional experience both nationally and internationally to meet the challenge of carrying their production to audiences far beyond the confines of local broadcast needs.

MARE NOSTRUM is currently developing two film projects: a historical movie “Nomandia” by Gérard Guerrieri, and Olivier Ringer’s thriller “20 millions sous la mer” (20 Million Under the Sea). Gérard Guerrieri’s first feature film “Fin de Règne” is in preparation for shooting in automn 2005.

MARE NOSTRUM is particularly dedicated to creating animated films, and plans to implement a regional 3D production center to work with international partners on the series “Les petits bonheurs d’Olive”, adapted from the children’s books written by Lili Pissenlit and Vanessa Gautier.
“Lélé”, a series of shorts, the special animated film “Iris,” the cartoon “Patate, Fayot,” and the short “Nounours” are just a few of the projects that MARE NOSTRUM has in the pipelines.

MARE NOSTRUM’s co-production partners include Injam Productions, Atlan Films, Def2Shoot and Phuuz Entertainment (USA), as well as local audiovisual companies and the Collectivité Territoriale de Corse.
